Marked By Freedom

Fall DTS is officially underway and we cannot be more excited about it! We welcomed 23 students last Wednesday by car and plane from all over the world representing the east coast, west coast, Midwest, Australia, Switzerland, Canada, and Norway. We have seen God move in a mighty way in the hearts of the students even before lectures began. It's been so raw and it has marked this class with true freedom. 1st John 1:9 says "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."Our team has taken this truth and run full force with it and experienced true healing and freedom through the Holy Spirit and power of confession. We have put aside our pasts and worldly identities and taken up the new identity Jesus has given us. Students from all walks of life uniting as one despite their differences and backgrounds for the sake of knowing Christ and making Him known. To say that we have a pretty rad Fall school is an understatement.

We have asked a few students how their first week here at YWAM Yosemite has been spiritually, physically and emotionally to give our faithful followers and supporters a glimpse into what God is doing here at the base.

" My first week at YWAM Yosemite has been very special. On one side I experienced very strong that God is with me. He is the one who provides for me even in the small things. He cares for me. And I am very touched by so many things that have happened this week and the things people have said and how they treat me. It is awesome! On the other side I felt alone. I felt isolated from the group because my mother language is not English. In the first week I learned to be open and transparent so I spoke about the way I felt and we prayed and I have felt better and better ever since. Physically, the first couple of days I felt tired from jet lag but in time I adjusted to the time change. I'm so excited for the next 6 months!

My first week so far has been great! Spiritually I already see God moving in a lot of really good ways. We’re only a week in and there has been so much breakthrough and freedom that makes me see even more just how good God is. Physically I’ve been okay, got a bit of a cold but nothing that’s hindering me from learning about God and missions. Emotionally, things have been laid out on the table by all of us which I think is really awesome because we are already becoming a family and being unified. I came into this knowing that I would be challenged in all 3 of the above, but in a good way and I am so excited for what the next 6 months are going to bring.

How loving is God? To bring all these awesome people from around the world to live out the great commission together for a season and then for life! He is so faithful to mold us in His likeness when we step out of our comfort zone and seek Him wholeheartedly. There is freedom outside of your comfort zone, in confession and when you take up your cross.
