What You Need To Know Before Your DTS
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AS YOU PREPARE FOR YOUR DTS
So, step one is complete -- your application has been sent in. You have accumulated medical records, references, finances, and your acceptance packet is sitting on your desk. And yet, you still have a whole semester before embarking on this life changing journey called the DTS. What should you know? How can you use this time to prepare for what lies ahead?
It is easy to get caught up in waiting.
In this season of waiting, you must hold fast to that initial tug on your heart that urged you to apply for a Discipleship Training School in the first place. No matter where you are in your walk with Christ, or what your life may look like right now, the truth is that God placed that yearning in your heart. Your venture into the unknown in doing a DTS is God-breathed. He is calling you into your identity in Him, leading you into destiny, and welcoming you into dynasty. This brings excitement and affirmation that resonates through your very bones. But that's not why it's significant.
Your decision to answer the Call on your soul completely contradicts the current of the world around you.
Your decision to answer the Call on your soul is one that completely contradicts the current of the world around you.
As you move closer to your departure date, doubt, fear, disinterest, and worry will set in. It's guaranteed. I am here to tell you that this is normal -- every DTS student went through it. It's difficult and confusing, but these feelings are a sign that you are headed in the right direction. You see, the enemy recognizes your potential. He sees that your decision will loosen his hold on humanity, and it is his goal to dissuade you from moving forward in it.
Now, I am not telling you all of this so that you will be worried, flustered or discouraged. I am telling you this because I believe it is the most important thing to know in this waiting period.
Your perseverance through adversity and your commitment to the Lord's direction are your greatest weapons. This will be the catalyst that propels you forward into your Discipleship Training School and onward to becoming a world-changer.
Do not cease to pray and seek God in all things. He is and always will be near, the counselor and comforter of all who draw near to Him. Stand firm in the Lord and His Word. We cannot wait to see you on Welcome Day!
